Job Description

The Security Shift Manager will implement approved procedures, trains, and schedules and evaluates officers assigned to the shift. Supervises and coordinates all Security functions within the hotel/casino. Knows company internal controls, policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and statutes. Supervises Security Officers and Floor Managers on assigned to the shift. Assumes full responsibility for all Security activities during the shift. Coordinate and supervises onsite investigations as deemed appropriate. Security Shift Managers are problem solvers with the ability to anticipate and diffuse potentially difficult situations. Security Shift Managers must be dynamic team leaders and rational in their approach. Security Shift Managers will always have positive energy and will maintain the highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and service.

Specific Job Functions:

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

– Assumes responsibility for all Security Team Members and overall Security functions on assigned shift.

– Ensures all laws, regulations, policies and procedures are followed by all guests and Team Members.

– Motivates, manages, observes, evaluates, and trains Security Floor Managers and Security Officers assigned to shift.

– Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.

– Maintains current individual records of Officers assigned to shift.

– Assists in investigations as needed.

– Makes sure all logs are completed and all equipment is accounted for.

– Conducts the daily shift briefings using prepared documentation.

– Prepares daily assignment sheets with correct areas and times, schedule and maintain all routine Security activities, and maintain follow-up to ensure adherence to schedule and work standards.

– Interact with guests and employees in a courteous and professional manner.

– Communicate successfully at all times with Security employees and the senior executive staff, as well as with guests and employees at all levels, Fire and Health Inspectors, law enforcement personnel, medical personnel and other outside vendors.

– Brief the Director of Security on all matters requiring their attention.

– Make suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, for improvements to policies, procedures, or the facility.

– Ensure a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained.

– Facilitate the flow of information throughout the property by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.

– Drive company vehicles as necessary.

– Carry a company issued firearm during their designated shift.

– Ensure that employees maintain valid/active licensing for their specific job/role.

– Other duties as assigned.

– Minimum of 7 years of hotel and casino Security, or law enforcement experience required.

– Minimum of 1 to 2 years of Security Management (Supervisor or above) experience required.

– Excellent English reading, writing, and speaking.

– Good public speaking and the ability to cope with irrational behavior.

– Must be able to prepare, maintain records, and write reports, and respond to correspondence.

– Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures are required.

– Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

– Excellent customer service skills

– Must be able to work in a fast paced, and at times, stressful environment.

– Ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

– Maintain a clean DMV record.

– Provide a current Nevada Motor Vehicle Report to the department leader and/or HR

– Must be able to carry a firearm and pass the company training and qualification requirements.

– 1 year of Security Shift Manager experience in hotel and casino Security preferred.
