RECREATION SERVICES SUPERVISOR
Job Description
The Recreation Services Supervisor will oversee pool deck operations, ensure guest safety, uphold customer service standards, respond to emergency situations, and setup staff training. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and company policies, practice, and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise the daily operations of the pool, including monitoring Leads, Lifeguards and guests/meeting safety standards, service delivery to include the wellbeing of guests, Lifeguards and leads, cleanliness, ambiance, work with supporting departments and meet maintenance needs
• Responsible for the hiring, coaching, issuing discipline, training, and accountability of all employees in the operation to include supporting departments
• Respond to and assist with incidents/accidents and involve security for support and completing applicable reporting; ensure departmental compliance regarding company, state/local and Health District polices, inventory control, loss prevention, Risk Management and security
• Ensure timely and professional resolution to guest and employee related challenges and/or concerns
• Participate in ongoing training, communicate company policies and objectives and support their implementation
• Ensure employee satisfaction through recognition, career development, and organizational teamwork to uphold positive morale
• Maintain efficient staffing and supply levels needed to provide superior service and maximize revenue opportunities
• Maintain and update revenue report (DOR)
• Implement Continuous Improvement to drive efficiency and growth i.e. Weekly In-Service and Focus of the week / month and guest service recovery.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
• Knowledge of computer software to include word, excel, outlook and/or equivalent
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy and somewhat stressful environment
• Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guest, management and other employees with courtesy and tactfulness
• Perception and awareness of individual needs and the ability to handle all situations calmly and professionally
• Must possess the ability to access all areas of the facility, frequent walking, standing and bending
• Ability to withstand extreme hot/cold working conditions when working outdoors
• Ability to move/lift up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail
• Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
• Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards
• Maintain a America Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two (2) years of related experience required
• One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred
