ARMED SECURITY OFFICER
Job Description
Uses exceptional customer service when assisting guests, vendors, visitors, and Team Members. Responsible for the protection and safety of guests, Team Members and property assets. Performs and conducts duties in a professional manner. Performs various assignments such as Security Dispatch, completing/writing incident reports, hotel/casino duties, vehicular, bicycle and foot patrol, seasonal pool patrol, and other assigned posts. Performs all duties in accordance with Circus Circus Hotel and Casino policies and procedures.
Specific Job Functions:
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
– Completes all assigned duties and maintains posts while providing superior customer service, assistance, and information to guests, visitors, Team Members and others.
– Protects the property, Team Members, and guests of the hotel.
– Safeguards all transfers of monies and chips on the casino floor, as well as the physical transportation of the bill validator cans, fills and credits.
– Completes all Lost and Found related duties.
– Conducts preliminary investigations and makes appropriate reports of any crime or other incidents occurring.
– Maintain logs for shift activity, key control, Security Dispatch, Lost and Found, and Booth activity.
– Security Officers are responsible for active participation in the continuous evolvement of their personal performance and their role as an armed Security Officer. This includes active participation in training, as well as openness to developmental feedback.
– Shared responsibility with all Team Members to ensure cleanliness, repair, safety and professionalism of the property, ensuring all areas are maintained at the highest level of standard, by either addressing the issue personally, or when necessary, contacting the appropriate department immediately to handle.
– Ensures all guest questions and concerns are addressed immediately, either personally, or by contacting the appropriate department, supervisor, or member of management, to obtain the answer to the questions, or obtain assistance in resolving the concern. Owns the situation until the situation is resolved, or the guest is in direct contact with the Team Member who will resolve the situation.
– Able to be alert in a high-risk environment; follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data, carefully monitor gauges, instruments, or processes; concentrate on routine work details.
– Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgement and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics; review facts and weigh options.
– Able to remain open-minded and change opinions on the basis of new information; perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change; manage transitions effectively from task to task; adapt to varying customer needs.
– Able to be tactful, maintain confidences and foster an ethical work environment; prevent inappropriate behavior by coworkers; give proper credit to others; handle all situations honestly.
– Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions
– Able to act in accordance with established guidelines; follow standard procedures in a crises situation; communicate and enforce organizational policies and procedures; recognize and constructively conform to unwritten rules and practices.
– Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary (to include approved overtime, reporting to duty during emergencies, etc…) to reach goals when requested; completes tasks on time and notifies appropriate person with an alternative plan. Follows through on all assigned tasks and guest related issues.
– Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies and procedures.
– Performs other duties as requested.
– Minimum of 1 year of hotel and casino Security, or law enforcement experience.
– Excellent English reading, writing, and speaking.
– Good public speaking and the ability to cope with irrational behavior.
– Must be able to prepare, maintain records, and write reports.
– Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures are required.
– Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
– Must be able to learn and complete tasks using computer systems.
– Excellent customer service skills
– Must be able to work in a fast paced, and at times, stressful environment.
– Ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
– Maintain a clean DMV record.
– Provide a current Nevada Motor Vehicle Report to the department management and/or HR
– Must be able to carry a firearm and pass the company training and qualification requirements within 30 days of employment.
– 1 year of armed hotel and casino Security or law enforcement experience preferred.
– Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
– Ability to utilize computers, a telephone, fax machine, and copy machine.
